NOTES Skeptic : Conservative and careful type. Tend to live a long, less glorious life than other types. Juggernaut : Sure and purposeful type. Blunt, eccentric, and a risk taker. Tend to live a glorious, short existence. Stoic : A middle of the road character type. Confident but knows when to moderate.
**** ! Starting values for gold, prestige, and age are standard for all characters !
**** Base Gold : The amount of gold a character type earns each year. Vested Interest earnings are added on top of this. Prestige : Political capital spent when voting in the Senate. Successful proposals earn Prestige. Dead proposals consume Prestige. (see Aura.) Aura : Determines how much Prestige is generated each year reguardless of circumstatnces. Life Expectancy : A rough estimate of how long a character type may live. Not exact. Lifestyle and assassins can alter these drastically. Death sends a character to the tombs. Players will be required to start a new character to continue playing. Characters with the highest prestige will earn a place of honor in the The Grand Mausoleum.
**** Inheritance : This is what percent of a character's gold goes back into the common treasury upon death. Sloth Threshold : This is the number of days a player can be an inactive poster before their character dies from inactivity. Posting before one's Sloth reaches this number reverses the phenomenon. No amount of posting will save a character from natural death.
***** Vested Interest: The Senate is an unpaid job. Each character earns their income from one of four industries: agriculture, military, mercantile, or slavery. The economic situation of Rome, her spending and resource allocation, has a direct effect on a player's income. Income Factor : At age 20 a character's Vested Income is one-half that listed on the Rome Status screen. Each year a percent of vested income equal to Income Factor is added to a character's income.
